<p>Coronavirus, self-isolation, quarantine – these are the most relevant topics of the last week. Many do not attach much importance to the fight against COVID-19, while others, on the contrary, raise a panic and fall into hysterics. In our opinion, the reason for both may be the lack of reliable information about the coronavirus. We have collected some of the most popular myths that were born precisely because <a href='https://jiji.ng/oredo/houses-apartments-for-renthttps://jiji.ng/oredo/houses-apartments-for-rent of the misinterpretation of everything that the media tells us.

Coronavirus can be transmitted through physical contact

Argument: if they urge you not to touch each other and in general any public surfaces, then you can catch a virus through them.

What really? In itself, physical contact with a surface or even with an infected person is not dangerous. Infection occurs when the virus interacts with mucous membranes. Another thing is that, for example, after a friendly handshake, you can scratch your eye or take a sandwich with the same hand – in both cases, contact with mucous membranes is ensured. That is why it is so important to wash your hands or treat them with disinfectants immediately after any contact outside the home.

The virus can be caught through a parcel or courier delivery

Argument: the parcel could be packed by an infected Chinese, and the courier bypasses ten people a day and travel by transport.

What really? Strictly speaking, you can. But the virus lives on surfaces for a very short time: up to a day in optimal conditions. If you are afraid of COVID-19, just leave the non-food parcel on the balcony for a couple of days. If this is food, carefully remove the packaging, put it in a bag, tie it up and also put it on the balcony or in another place where it will not bother you. Don’t forget to wash your hands with soap. With proper handling, the risk of getting coronavirus in this way is minimal.

The couriers themselves are much more dangerous in terms of infection. Therefore, there is nothing shameful in asking them to leave the package and move a couple of meters away.
